一昨日はシュトゥットガルト日本人会主催の新年会があった。補習校コーラス部や剣道部の発表、ドイツ桐蔭学園の太鼓やソーラン節の発表があった。
On Sunday, there was Stuttgart Japanese Society's new year party.
There were many shows including chorus and Kendo from Japanese school,
drums and traditional dance from Toin Gakuen.
コーラス部に出る娘二人には、家内が前日から歌詞を詰め込み、歌のCDをたくさん聞いたので、いつもよりは上手に歌えたかな。でもリハーサルには遅れたのは、僕の詰めの甘さ・・・。
My two daughters are in the chorus group, so my wife was pressing them
to memorise the lyrics. By listening to the CDs many times, they
seemed more comfortable than before (even though we were late for the
rehearsal...).
いつも最後にくじ引きがあり、いろいろな豪華賞品が当たる。今年は経済危機のあおりを受けて企業寄付が少なかったみたいだけど、頑張っていろいろ揃えてた。非常にドイツ的な（と僕は思う）このくじ引きイベント、遊園地でもおなじみ。
At the end of the party is a lot which one can win many goods. Because
of the financial crisis, there were few donations from Japanese
companies, but they still had quite some. This lot, I think, is
typical event in Germany. One can find it at amusement parks.
ちなみに以前はシュトゥットガルト日本語教会のクリスマス会でも同じようなことをしていたので、寄附品（献品）を募る大変さは身をしみてわかっている。
By the way, we used to do similar lot at the Japanese church too, so I
know how time consuming it is to gather donations from others.
我が家は、一昨年はJALのアップグレード券、昨年は日本料理店喜長の100ユーロクーポン、今年は同じく50ユーロクーポンが当たった。実はウォークマンを狙っていたんだけれど叶わず。ぜいたくな悩みです。
Previously, we have won airline upgrade ticket, a 100 Euro coupon from
a Japanese restaurant, and this year, we won a 50 Euro coupon from the
same restaurant. I actually wanted to have a Walkman, but maybe this
is asking too much.
普段引きこもりがちな我が家にとっては、なかなか普段会えない友人・知人に会える大事な機会です。
It has been a wonderful opportunity for our family to meet many of our
friends we do not get to see very often.
